I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
